ACTION Die Hard Fans
All he ever asked for was a normal christmas... John McClane finds himself in busy Dulles International Airport during a bad snowstorm. Once again, this is the wrong place to be, at the worst time as an ex military general is planning to hijack a major drug dealer's plane by holding the incoming planes hostage. He didn't figure on an off duty cop getting into the mix and McClane knows all too well how to be a huge pain. The stakes are even higher for him as circling planes overheard run low on fuel. He must find a way to get the people safe and stop the criminals from getting away. Yippi ki yay!
I love the entire series but every time I think about what my favorite film is, this one always wins. I am not saying it is better than it's predecessor. I am a huge fan of series. I love sequels and trilogies. I love how Willis's character wise cracks about how the same stuff can happen to the same guy all over again! This is a film I always add to my holiday playlist!
HORROR Texas Chainsaw Massacre Fans
In the 70's, four teens heading to a concert have some bad luck on the road. As they are looking for help, they fall prey to the crazed Hewitt family and their maniacal chainsaw wielding son, Thomas.
We are now living in the time of film remakes. This remake is the one that breaks that false sense of "don't mess with a classic" we all get to our beloved favorite films. Michael Bay pulled some of his best work off on this film. You would expect a gore filled slice em' dice em' time with a name like chainsaw massacre, but that is not what you get with this masterpiece. Bay used just enough elements to give us a taste of gore, but left most of the stuff to our imagination which you will find is more terrifying. As soon as the first thrilling moment happens, it's a rollar coaster ride through the rest of this amazing story.
This was a great cast choice. They each played their roles so well and made this my favorite horror film.
ADVENTURE The Lord of the rings Fans
When Frodo inherits a very powerful relic, he must flee his homeland and get it to the people who can handle it, the Elves. When the races can't seem to compromise though, he decides to take it to be destroyed, and so begins his long journey.
I loved the novels more than the film of course, but seeing it put together on film is a great experience. I love the fellowship the most out of all three.
COMEDY Austin Powers Fans
Austin Powers once again sets out to stop his nemesis Dr Evil from committing world destruction with some twisted, and hilarious, plot.
I had to pick a favorite comedy movie, and so I thought which film made me laugh the most. Seeing as I went to the theater to see this film five times laughing hysterically every time, this is the one. Of course you have to be a fan of Mike Meyers comedy style to enjoy these films.
I grew up with his SNL antics and from that moment any thing he would do I would love. His comedy routines just crack me up. I hear rumors of a fourth installment but I haven't heard anything on whether this is his next move or not. I would certainly return to the theater for another Austin Powers adventure.
ROMANTIC The Ugly Truth Fans
Abbey has to deal with their new addition to the set, Mike. He's known for telling love like it really is, the ugly truth. She detests his words and methods at first, but when they begin to work on a guy she's interested in, she starts to see there's more to Mike that she didn't notice.
Gerard is a great actor. I've seen him in action films, thriller films, and now he can crack me up as well. This technically is a romantic comedy, but that's as close as I can get to picking a favorite. Katherine is a sexy woman and quite funny as well. Their chemistry works in this film.
